Is there a penalty for too many sites on a single ip?

As far as I know, No search engine penalizes for such practice. I think it's allowed.

So many people use shared hosting that it would be impossible to penalize too many sites on a single IP. I was looking at a tool that shows you how many sites are sharing your IP if you use shared hosting and it was over 400 sites. Now some of those might have just been domains, but damn that is a lot of sites.

only if the IP you are using is banned from search engines i think, i might be wrong,

i hope there is not such a penalty. because my sites are hosted on huge shared ips

Yep, I've see many site hosted on the same huge server, so its quite obvious they might have the same IP, but never heard about this issue before.

It isn't against any terms I have ever saw. If your very concerned, post a question on Yahoo Answers, I'm sure the people there would know better than I.

I think no search engine penalizes for such practice, i don't think their is any penalty....
