Yeah I never post the URL publicly. If they want the URL they'll have to PM for it.

See I find that strange becasue I have never done it that way because from what I have seen users dont like that, but that is only what I have seen of the sale of sites >$2,500. I think that you are selling large sites <$2,500 that can be done with no problem. Pretty much if you are selling a site for $50 post the URL.

Some believe that the SE's pay attention to forum links in posts. I haven't seen proof either way, so I'm open minded about it.

Plus, in my experience if you talk about the URL in a PM you tend to get a more in depth and personal conversation with the interested party. This has almost always resulted in a quick sale for me.

Well that is a good point becasue if you did not list the URL then would not get all of those posts like "If I had the money" and all of those types of posts. From what you are saying about only getting intrested parties is starting to sway my thinking about how I list my sites.

And... do you want Google to know you're about to transfer a domain? If you post the URL in the thread, the spider will find it and it's possible they could put 2+2 together and figure out that ownership is about to change. This *could* send up some sandbox flags.

This is the same reason I won't post a URL to one of my sites in a thread about Page Ranking.

I might just be paranoid, but it's a practice I try and keep in the habit of.

I would think the name of the site is more important than anything else. Even if you get 0 traffic, if you have a really great name then I think there will be somebody out there that will pay big money for it.

True true you get a good domain name and people will buy the website just for that.

Thank You
