Default Which Portfolio/Galley software is the best?

I'm re-designing my site and have used Coopermine for my online portfolio, but was wondering what other people use and why?

Gallery2 is another top end gallery for websites.

I have used it on one project and it offers some really cool features. For instance, if your image has GPS info embedded, you can have Google Maps display a map showing where the picture was actually taken. Also, there are mods for people with cell phone cameras to upload their photos remotely. However, I have not tried this feature, but it's there (along with dozens of other mods)

It's worth checking out!

Coppermine is good also. Using it on another site at the moment. But, as you said, you're wondering what else others are using.

I moved from Coppermine to Gallery2, mainly because of a lot of additional features that G2 has.

One thing I love about G2 is its Windows client to upload the photos. This is where Coppermine lacks.

If you are interested in a quick and easy flash photo gallery script check out that post. I'm using it on photos of norway. It looks nice but may not be what you are looking for if Search Engine Optimization is important to you.

I use Coppermine and like it. However, I haven't used anything else, so I can't rate it comparatively.
