Default Forum Bots

Does anyone know where to download bots for your forums? I've just created a forum and need some bots.

hmm if you're referring to Google/MSN spiders aka bots, they come automatically once you're being indexed.

if you're referring to those bots that post news as topics in your forum, those are RSS bots. search for "RSS" "posters" in the various forums depending on your forum software. if you're using vb, try vbulletin.org

cheers

I did not know such bots existed for the public. Is there any more information on this?

If you are looking for bots to post on your site my recommendation is "please don't"

They can populate your site so much, that it just becomes a no-visit for your members, unless you can actually control them.

I've been on forums before that seem to have very plain text starting posts for threads, usually without a question. I remember thinking to myself, it looks like this poster keeps copying and pasting from new articles or encyclopedias. Perhaps it wasn't a person at all.

The posts were lame and didn't spawn discussion. So, if those were bots, I also recommend against using them.
