We're supposed to use CSS for all formatting. However, in the past formatting was often used to make significant changes to the layout, without which the site became non-sensical.
Usually by programming in the plain left to right pattern, if you know what I mean, can make your site structurally correct, while still allowing you to create dynamic formatting. Do you do this? Or, does your site depend on CSS to make sense, even at a structural level? Search engines and other non-human readers can get confused by poorly structured websites.

I use CSS on every site that I design.
Depending from site to site, I usually put content first and the sidebar in the end. Then I use CSS to position the sidebar as I feel it. My blog Ajay - On the Road called Life! is designed this way.
