How did you learn HTML? Did you want to learn it, or did you pick up in a quasi-accidental way?
For me, it was more of the latter. I grew up around computers and the internet. So, I learned HTML the same way I learned how to speak: without trying. Of course, since then I have often consulted the W3C standards and other designers to further refine my skills. I taught myself other languages - such as CSS, JavaScript, and PHP - by reading online tutorials and asking questions in forums. What about you? How did you learn? Are you glad you did? I sure am! |

Well I only started to learn HTML when I wanted to get into the whole Webmaster business. I learnt everyhting I know from W3Schools and other random sites. I still refer back to W3Schools from time to time. I'm currently learning PHP but still at a beginner's level.

I learnt a few years ago mainly from w3schools. Since then I have gone into CSS, JavaScript, PHP, XML, XSL, DTD and a few programming languages like C++ and Java.
Most of the stuff I do now involves XHTML, CSS and PHP to some extent and so its probably the most important skill I learnt. It was quite funny since I have always been interested in computers and so I sort of fell into learning markup and programming, neccessity being the main drive. Jamie

I started out learning C, got bored and took up HTML, that was in 2000.
Went through several tutorials and books. Finally graduated to XHTML. Also learnt a good deal of CSS, JS and PHP along the way. Have a good way to go, but I get all my work done and well :) Ohh... and I learnt C too ;)
