which brand dvds is best?

there are many brands for cds and dvds and i have been wonder which would be the best to buy, as how supported the dvd is or how long it can hold out can depend on that.

tdk or philips should be very good from what i know, atleast the ones i used didnt get unusable so easliy even after getting so many "scars"

I always buy the ones that are circular and shiny on one side.

every single one, or just randomly ?

well i guess it would be mostly fine unless you use them for something specific and you want them to last long too.

I only burnt a DVD once and that was to test out the DVD recorder in Vista.

so you dont do backups of different things ? i backup my harddisk every once in a while and backup my "work" files on a rewriteable dvd, so that nothing is lost.

Hi,
I prefer you to buy good quality Dvd’s. The below mentioned DVD’s are better:
Sony company DVD’s are very good in quality. So I always buy Sony company DVD’s. And the other good companies are:
1.Taiyo Yuden DVDs
2.Mountain Apple Company

You can also choose Phillips DVD’s, but careful as there may be fake one’s.
