i'm too lazy to research this so i'm hoping some lost soul knows the answer to this one...
if you run DTS (which means DTS will take ownership or at least extract the data from the database) and an encoder tries to save his new data, what happens? i mean, what happens when the encoder tries to save his data? will he get an error because DTS is extracting data, or will it not have an effect at all? i was asked this question and i had no clue what's happening. all i know is DTS is supposed to optimize performance of SQL statements by packaging several statements --- extract, transform and load --- into one. any idea, or guess? :|
