What to do when a server crashes which hosts your blog?

I am having my blog at writingup blog host for more than eight months. I had registered with adsense and made some money from adsense as well as blog ads by posting blogs at writingup blog. But as the server load was increasing it crashed heavily three months ago. Monthly once it resumes only to crash again in a week.

What can be done to make it back alive?

You should possibly consider buying a bigger / better server, if you're on shared, move to a VPS or a dedicated box. I could also suggest, that you might want to keep a small shared server, then get a website monitoring script, so that, if your main server ever crashes, you can temporarily use the shared one to keep your site running.

You don't need a bigger server, you need a better host.

If you current web host comes alive, back up all your database files. Restore your back up to another web host and change the necessary DNS for your domain name. It is high time to dump your unreliable host.

Migrate to another web host. The lesson there is while web hosting comes cheap nowadays, you have to be choosy on your web host. Downtime is inevitable. But frequent downtimes are bad for online business.

Always stay with a reliable web host
Always have a backup of your files and database just in case.
Those are the 2 most important pieces of information I can give you.

The first thing to do would be to contact your host.
It happens to me all the time on my free host and they usually fix it right away.

I totally agree...

It's fine for a host to offer backups, but I feel better having a backup copy of all my sites on my local HD.

Also sometimes contacting the host will not work as I am notifiying you from personal experience. They sometimes become unresponsive if it is not a well known company.
