Though I dont pay much attention to it, as most of my links are one-way links, and like its said, Links to your site cannot harm you, unless you reciprocate them, hence no danger as such..as long as they stay one ways..

Perhaps, Page Ranking is not what everyone looks out for,.. I look out for relevancy, Very simple example, A Page Ranking-2 site can beat out a PR-6 site in SERPS..Relevancy remains the key here as well
