Degrading the size of <h1> tag

I was wondering if anybody has any experience or knowledge of whether changing the size of a <h1> tag via css has any kind of negative effect on their Search Engine Optimization?

Have the stylesheet specify the size of the H1 tag. It helps if you have it inside of a div with an ID.
