Here is why.
1. Submitting quality articles can immediately grow you backlink to your site. This is always the case that the author site is displayed at the end. These not only increase backlink but also visitors to your site coming in from that article.

I know many freelance writers who used free articles to help them build their portfolio.
I also write for some clients that want to have articles written for free services so that they will increase their backlinks. It's said to be a very effective Search Engine Optimization strategy.

You're right ,diddy1...I utilize article submission services for research reasons as well and can often find good information.

However, some of it is a little too watered down. Integrity of information is important and Search Engine Optimization, I think sometimes compromises the web when people take it too far and consider the spiders to be more important than the actual quality of info.

I don't believe in providing content to other sites just for a back link... I save my articles for my blogs as they will serve me better there than by getting a few measly backlinks.

Focus on producing the unique content for your site not somebody else's as content is what will get you ahead in the long run!

when i make an article, i prefer to keep it for myself and not post it elsewhere in exchange for a backlink. my adsense clicks on pages with articles worth a lot more and when u have original content on your site, u can catch some search phrases from SE that other sites do not have.
