I look for free Search Engine Optimization resources and a good one i would like to share is :10 Search Engine Optimization Tips
I basically do my own Search Engine Optimization for my sites but does it really help to follow all these tips? Will you gain top rankings for your efforts? I'm not so sure...after resourcing several Search Engine Optimization tips & tricks the outcome for me fell short of fantastic, more content links will be added to all pages of my site to see if there will be a drastic difference. Everyone has a tip to give you and these could be a dime a dozen because i have heard countless tips and applied almost all of them to my site with the end result being (not as expected) Should you pay for Search Engine Optimization? That's a great question and for me will be left unanswered I'm afraid. The better question seems to be...Will it be worth it?

All in house. Too often Search Engine Optimization company's don't know what they are doing and often make too many amateur mistakes. We would never outsource that area because they are often overpriced and do more harm than good.

I do most of the Search Engine Optimization myself. A friend of mine who works with an SEO company also helps once in a while.

I Search Engine Optimization my websites myself, sure it may be slower and a 'waste' of my time but it's more cost-effective. I also get to know what is done to my website and that no black-hat is applied.

I do it myself, mainly because I run forums. So using a Search Engine Optimization mod improves the situation. And on other types of sites, I try to do my best. My sites aren't that big at the moment, so I don't see a need to pay someone to do it. But if I ever encounter a good deal, I might give it a try. If you do it yourself, you also learn about SEO, and in case you do hire someone you are more aware of what they're doing and you can determine if you're getting ripped off or not, or if it's even efficient.

Unless you can find a person with a lot of experience in Search Engine Optimization marketing, it's best to do it yourself. Unfortunately, those who do it well also charge big $$$.
