Exclamation Search Engine Optimization Tips

some say some of it don't work. but others say it works well on their site. any comments or additonals???

1. place keyword in < h1> tag in very top of the page

2. place keyword phases as the first word in < title> only, and contain no more than 3 keywords

3. On your webpage, set your first graphic with ALT set to your target keyword

4. build a text based sitemap, add ALT if it is an image

5. OPML / RSS site map

6. bold or underline keyword (1 or 2 times only)

7. The key word/phrase should be used again very near the end of the page.

8. try to register a good domain name with keyword (I guess keyword in subdirectory is ok)

9. navigation menu on the right, since googlebot looks from top and left

It is recommended to have your content before the menu links, because the scraper looks for good content first.

You can use CSS to place the menu last after the content.

meta tags should be used.

Some search engines use it, though many don't.

e.g. what use is a meta tag if you don't have content

It can't hurt to use meta tags so long as you have the matching content. It can help, though. So, it's wise to use meta tags.
