HTML and Java have worked all these years for me and they're pretty easy. If you know that then you're set.

Software guys mostly use C, Java, .NET thats it. But it all depends on the purpose of your work. So in short it rather ambigious question as to which language is the best.

I'm going to have to agree that java is a good programming language to learn and when you get into it its fairly easy to pick up so definately look into it.

I suggest you learn both procedural and object oriented programming. Learn C++ for the former while learn java for the latter.

Start with C and when you become comfertable with it learn an object Oriented language like C++ or Java. You will be in demand when you passout.

I liked PHP very much as i feel it is somewhat easy language than other right now. it is very similar to C, but a little different. If you want easier language go for HTML programming.

I would recommend you to start with the C++ first, as this is the fundamental to all others programming languages...

After you've mastered the C++, then move up with the Java or Perl...
