can anybody still remember Linked List? if you've been working
as a dev for at least 6 months and asked, create your own linked list,
i bet even a dev with 10 years experience will scratch his head and say,
"i studied that in my undergrad years"... point is, we don't really use
linked list (at least we don't write our own. we just use the predefined
functions) on designing complex applications so being asked this question
on an interview doesn't exactly guarantee whether an applicant is
a good fit or not. just my 2 cents.

Often times the people asking an applicant questions aren't familiar with the job they are trying to hire the perosn. However, if the applicant told them what you just said, then the hirer will know that the applicant knows what's going on.
