I had a job to promote a certain business author above his critics. Specifically push the critical content onto the second page of Google search results.
It worked for a few months. The critics crept back into the top 5. So a few more tweaks and the critics retreated to page two again. But for the last several months, nothing has worked to remove the critics from the first page. Then I did some more Google results research. Searches for "Walmart", "PayPal", and even "Conservatism" show a balanced result of positive and negative pages. Negative results rank even if they have weaker keyword and link attributes. I think it would be fairly easy for the Google techies to program positive and negative themed pages. It would go toward their goal of delivering quality results to their user. Now if they would only do it for the People's Republic. Thanks Destiny |

I'm sure Google could handle something like that, but I doubt they'll ever implement it. When I search for something (especially to do research, but for other purposes as well) I don't just want a bunch of yes-man sites to come up.
