Default Want to learn...

I have absolutely no experience with PHP, so I've had to enlist others to help me with implementing various additions to my websites in the past. It's becoming way too much of a burden, especially since I have difficulty managing sites with PHP since I have so little understanding of it.

Any ideas on where to start? Are there any good websites for learning to use PHP, starting from scratch?

I started by looking through some tutorials that a couple of 14yr olds wrote. Of course the tutorials were quite simplistic but I found it the best means to learn.
I also invested in a couple of books which were:

Larry ullmans PHP for the world wide web and PHP and MYDQL web development . Bothe of these books I would strongly recommend.

Also a good community dedicated to PHP is Phpfreaks.com.

And some tutorials sites that I'd recommend are: pixel2life.com

Hope that helps,
Matt

i also started on php 4 months ago and only do it on my spare time (which is not a lot). i got my first taste of php when i installed wordpress and i customized the skin. then i went about to write my own guestbook. i just got into classes the other day. hehehhe.

i don't have a specific php site that i go to. i just type whatever it is that i need to do, like "redirect page PHP" if i want to know what the PHP equivalent of response.redirect on asp. that usually works for me :)
