I have a need to frame a web site and add some text to it. I also need to add one variable to the text I add to it.
I did this once before with the help of someone who knew perl/cgi - I don't, but I can follow instructions. Basically, I just want to tag a referral code onto any web site that I didn't create myself with a frame of maybe 1" at the top or bottom of their page that says You were referred here by XXXXXX I want to make the text vary based on the URL that creates the frame and provides the text variable. Actually the URL provides two variables. The first is the target URL. The second is the referrer name. It should look something like this ... http://www.mydomainname.com/cgi?URL=...eferrer=XXXXXX I think this was the URL string I used to use several years ago when I did this. Can anyone help me with this? thanks connor |
