MSN Ad Center launched with a pretty good sized buzz, but they seemed to have forgotten one important piece of the puzzle... traffic.

In order to have the success of Adsense and YPN, you'vr got to have searchers. MSN doesn't have the volumes of search traffic, so it appears as though they're struggling already.

New York—Microsoft said traffic for its adCenter has steadily improved since the search product was launched in May. However, there’s room for improvement, according to advertisers, search engine marketing agencies and Microsoft executives who gathered for a meeting Wednesday at the company’s New York office.

Christal Condon, director of marketing for Home Decor Products, said, “With MSN, traffic is the main challenge.” As far as account management, functionality and reporting tools, adCenter is “on par with Google,” she said.

Condon added that with the consolidation of sales teams under Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions, “the traffic should increase.”

True, but a little money is better than no money? Besides it is just the start. Those who have faced problems with Adsense or YPN, may jump on this.

The only benefit I could see from making the jump is you can probably still get decent keywords with a low CPC. That being said, without traffic it really doesn't matter.

thus advertising in adcenter is not a good choice now i suppose.

It's funny to see big companies make amateur mistakes. It takes minutes to find the advertising option on Microsoft live. A simple link on every search page to add your own listings would dramatically increase their user base, hence more revenue for the division and probably result in more traffic as they can show corporate they can generate more revenue.

Like robery said it is really funny to see such a large company making a mistake that say I would make you would think that they would have a guy to deal with a problem like that.

Perhaps the people in MSN designing this don't have experience with this type of market? I mean we all work on the internet and use the searching and such. However, ironically, the people working in the MSN office may not do that.

Adcenter is the big failure for MSN and I hope they learn something from its failure and next time when they launch any thing new they must give enough importance to all the aspects.

I agree with you. Adcenter is a complete failure for them as they lacked the very basics. They do not have much features and they ignored the traffic which so important.
