Default MSN now streams live concerts?

In an effort to catch up to the fast moving Yahoo and Google, MSN has signed an exclusive deal with Control Room, the company responsible for streaming last years "Live 8" event.

M$ has put out a lot of "me too" products lately, so it's nice to see them doing something different that its two main foes.

Would you watch live concerts via MSN?

I think this kind of thing is going to shift us from TV to complete Internet based home entertainment. Now that you can download full movies and watch live events, the point of paying for cable or Sat TV is becoming less and less relevant.

I think I would watch constets on MSN becasue there are a lot of shows that never come to NY so it would be nice to see some of those bands that dont make it over here. I would like to see how far they go with this.

It's the trend these days..
Online media is taking over offline media.
Youtube is taking a lot of people's TV hours and with more streaming and video sites coming up, we can expect people to spend more time in front of their computer watching videos than on the couch watching TV

Like most of the Internet, I think it would have to be ad supported in order to make it online. People go to the Internet because you get FREE information. If people have to start paying for stuff like YouTube, they might as well just stick to the TV.

If a certain person know internet, yes, but for a grade schools, no, i believe we are taking in general here not just on specific country or age. Television still come in handy, first the cost over computers.

I don't think it has anything to do with the country to be quite frank with you. Everyone wants free and that holds truth no matter where you are. If the Internet cannot offer a better entertainment experience with a lower cost, then why will people migrate from TV to Internet?
