I personally own few blogs and I use the following things for marketing:

1. Good and user-friendly content
2. Good site layout
3. Promotional methods with good returns without spending too much.
4. Clickbank to sell off my own products.

If you want to boost up your traffic to your websites, you have to submit some useful and readable articles to the article submission directories...

Sometimes, you also can become a guest blogger for the famous blogs to gain your reputation and get some publicity as well.
