Hi everyone,
the title already says it : I would like to know if you use Myspace to promote your site ( s ) ? How do you use it and are you satisfied with the results ? So far i never tried it and i would like to read as much experiences as possible, before i make detailed plans. Therefore it would be nice, if you can tell me some facts about your experiences. Thanks in advance. |

I think it would be pretty horrible there is enough spam on Myspace as it is. The only products that would do good on there are already popular products such as iPod they have a Myspace for everyone of their colors. TV shows and movies also seem to be getting into the Myspace frenzy but again they are only popular ones geared for Teens-College students.

Thanks for your reply. Well, my research ended in nearly the same finding. There are too many people trying to sell/promote something. Nearly nobody clicks on bulletins and ad stuff anymore.

You mean that there's a sentence in the profil like "Layout created by www....." ? Most of the people i know who use created layouts remove this part from the code, so the other user can't see it.

Yup its true. If you know about the coding which most every myspace user does they take out the link or little banner at the top. Most of the time it contrasts with the layout and is ugly. If you make a logo that fits in with the layout people would probably leave it.

I have a MySpace account that goes with my radio site (link in the signature). It's not my sole means of advertising or anything, but as a free supplement it does it's job.

The first problem you will run into is if you post affiliate links in your bulletins your page will get deleted. That is one of the new ways Myspace is combating spammers. You can still promote via Myspace, but the trick is to find a competitor that has a page, and then send friend requests to everyone on his list. It may not seem ethical but you know they must already be interested in the product, and I have it happen to me all the time.
