Your pagerank will increase on your homepage if you don't link to everyone from your home page. That is just silly if you want your pagerank to grow.

Also its a bad idea to place everyones link on the homepage of your "directory" because you are basically linking out to a bunch of nonrelated sites. Plus I don't think you can call it a directory if there are no subdirectories, haha.
