Link Exchange - Google Page Ranking

Hello:
I did link exchange with a number of sites with same or higher Google Page Ranking.
When I've viewed the actual PAGE on their site where they have placed the
link back to me, it had a lower or no Page Ranking rating.

Does this matter? Should the page with my link on be of the same or higher Page Ranking page ?

As for my opinion, if you have links from low Page Ranking pages, it will really affect your PR. But, if your target is on positioning your site to the top of search engine using your desired keyword, PR is not much important for as long as you link to sites related to yours. The sites you linked with should also being crawled by google.

different pages has different page ranks in some sites but i don't think it will affect you If the domain has the page rank you wanted
