Default Script Accessibility?

What exactly do we mean when we say. "accessible?" To whom are we making our scripts accessible? An why do we need to do this, anyway?

Basically to those with disabilities. It's in accordance to some British law :). I'm in the US, so I ignore it for the most part. However, I do try to make my websites as "accessible" as possible for those with limited eye sight.

Just make sure you keep your coding up to the standards and you will be fine :). I hope that helped .

Actually disability laws apply to ost western countries. The USA has its own version of the law but I am not exactly sure of the penalties.

When talking about accessibility most people are referring to disabled users but many forget to talk about bots, spiders and browsers. All these applications will also be affected by the accessibility of your site.

Coding Standards are the main thing. But there are also some special design procedures you should undertake. I have written an article about it which you can find on my website Idevs or it is around on this forum somewhere if I can find it.

I don't understand what has to be done to help people with disabilities. Is this just with JavaScript? Does it have to do with their special programs that can't read text written in JavaScript.
