Hi to all,
A year ago we developed a site that involves file encryption and decryption. The site generally functions as a portal where people sends and receives audio files. Here's the question, (since we're using java to encrypt and decrypt each file everytime it's being sent from users to server and vice versa), this process only works in a particular version. If Java has an update and the user will update his/her computer, the process doesn't work anymore. So what gives? Generally, when you get an update, it is expected that what functions in lower versions should function in the higher ones. Hey guys, can you enlighten me on this one pls? |

It's impossible for every version to be completely backward compatible. You probably want to come up with a better way to encrypt and decrypt your files. Couldn't you have all the encryption and decryption take place on the server-side?
