I was looking Hostgator for some packages and was thinking whether there is any difference in linux and windows???? Which best they can provide their user?? What do you think????

I'd say go with Linux. They cost less and crash less. They also support more softwares, applications, languages, and databases. The only thing with them is that they are not fully compatible with some Microsoft technologies.

If you like having the full control in your hands you must consider Linux seriously. Community will be more friendly and helpful imho.

Linux is better in so many ways. I don't know exactly why but its a lot better.

I dont really using Linux as the server and honestly said im not really good in this area.. can someone tell me why you guys telling linux is better than window?

Linux is easier to handle remotely than windows. If I were you, I would pick Linux.
For me, Windows' good only if the server is within your reach, I mean physically.
