I used the free site of Geocities. I was never contented at all because of annoying ads. Besides Geocities can only offer free host to static sites. if your site is a datababase driven site, Geocities is not the answer for free hosting.

Geocities are probably the worst free host you can find, they place the ads on about 1/4 of the page and they cannot fully be hidden, if you scroll down u still see them fixed on the side... not to mention the very measly diskspace they provide you with.

My first free host was geocities for a gaming website for my guild. then my first paid hosting was when I managed a forum for Outlawz.info and made lots of traffic and moved into a host site due to lack of features for free sites.

My first host was bought from ebay and I will never do it again I got scammed after that I googled my way to some forums, and found a few good sites that offered a very cheap service I have looked back since!

I'm using godaddy for domaina and free hosting. I'm also using my local hosting and its really cheap and i love their service.

awardspace.com it was my first free host though it had less bandwidth monthly but still was good than others as many hosts put their ads which lessens your revenue from your ads i dont had that problem with awardspace as it has banner and ads free hosting .

I had free hosting with GeoCities when I was really young but my first paid hosting was from SiteGround.
