First off there are several ways of doing this. I am only going to post one and later post another in this topic.

Okay:
Step 1: Okay Start with a new file: Any size you want. I will use 400 by 100. Now go make your sig. When you are done have your whole sig desaturated.


Step 2: Go make a new layer and place it on the very top. Go to Filter>Renders>Clouds. Set the blending mode to color and then go to blending options.


Click on the Gradient overlay options. Change the blend mode to overlay and mess with the colors.




step3: Now add your finishing touches.

that's a good tut man, but i like the multicolored ones with like 4 or 5 colors.

Here is another way, this way will allow more than two colors:

Okay
Step 1) Have you sig desaturated and ready


Go to the top layer and select the Lasso Tool and select some part of your sig/banner and then feather it. Now go to color balance and choose your color. Do this multiple times selecting different areas.

Thats awsome. Just try to make your images smaller so they dont jump off the screen. ^_^
