I will teach you how to make an ice background using photoshop.

1. Create a new document using any size (I will use 350 px x 350 px). Fill your whole background with black now.

2. Here's where the fun begins. Go to Filter --> Render --> Lens Flare... and use these settings:

Brightness: 90%
Lens Type: 105mm Prime

Do it a few times until it looks like this along with how the settings should be:

3. Now go to Filter --> Sketch --> Chrome and put in these settings and no need to worry about the left side:

Now click OK.

4. Now it's time to make this thing change. Duplicate it until you have three of them. On the first two copies use this alteration:

a. Filter --> Distort --> Wave and use the previous settings but don't click OK. Hit the 'Randomize' button once and then click OK. Now go to 'Mode:' at the top and select 'Lighten'.

The third copy is similar to the other two:

b. Go to Filter --> Distort --> Wave and set the type to triangles and hit the 'Randomize' button once. Click OK and also set the mode to lighten on this copy too.

You should have something like this:

5. Hit Ctrl+E to Merge the layers.

6. This is where we start adding color. Press Ctrl+U and use these settings:

(For Hue something might pop up that says you need + 180 so click OK and leave it.)

7. Time to make the ice! Go to Image --> Rotate Canvas --> 90 CW. Now Filter --> Stylize --> Wind (use the previous settings). Now back to Image --> Rotate Canvas --> 90 CCW. And now you're done, your result should look like this:

Hope you like it!
