1) Start off with a new document in adobe image ready, I made mine 340 by 125.

2) Make sure the "animation window" is showing. To do this, click on WINDOWS, and make sure that ANIMATION is checked. (check picture 1)

3) Select the text tool (second colomn, sixth row), and type something on your blank document.

4) Now duplicate the frame, to make 10 frames in total.

5) This might get tricky. Firstly, you need to click on the tenth frame, and then make the text layer invisible. Now, with the 10th frame still highlighted, hold shift, and then click on the first frame. If you did this correctly, all your frames should be blue. Now press the "tween" button.

6) Now create another 10 frames (so you now have 20 frames in total), and then click on the 20th frame. On the 20th frame, make the text layer visible again. Now highlight frames 10-20 (by click on frame twenty, and then holding shift, and then clicking on the 10th frame. Now press the tween button.

7) Delete frame twenty.

8) Now go to FILE> SAVE OPTIMIZED AS, and save your file as a .GIF. (make sure you select save optimized as, and not just save as)

Your done! This is what mine looked like...

This is a very basic level of the fading animation. You can add fading text into your sigs for some pretty cool effects.
