Google Banned

If your site has not been indexed by google then there is a chance that your domain has been banned. There are many reason why your site could of been banned and I will list a few of them here.
  • Domain submission- Often when you have just got a new domain you go around getting backlinks to your site and adding your domain to search engines. That is good but what you must not do is go submitting your site over and over to google. If you do this google will eventually ban your domain. Try not to do it more then 1 time per month
  • Hidden text - Some sites use hidden text methods to hide links or keywords by making them the same color as the background. Google will pick up on this and can result in your site been banned.
  • Linking to banned sites - Do not link to sites that have been banned by google. And do not link to "link farm" sites which are sites that are just full of links and have no "real" purpose except for gaining search engine rankings. If you do your site may be banned.
  • Using popular keywords - Using popular keywords such as "search engine" or "sex" in your meta tags when the your site has nothing to do with those words may get your site banned.
  • Keyword spamming - Do not add to many key words into you META tags and do not add to many of your keywords onto your website.

e.g. Your site has 1000 words and 500 of them is the word "FREE GAMES" If you do your site may be banned
  • Submitting similer pages - Do not have multiple copys of the same page just with differnt titles. If you do you may get banned.

How do I know If my website has been banned?

There is a few ways you can do this. 1st of all type your domain name into google and search. If it shows any results then your site has not been banned.

If it does not show any results this does not mean your site has been banned it just may be new or you need to get some inbound links so google can find it.

Another way to find out if your site has been banned is to put the full address into google and then search.

google will then say "Sorry, no information is available for the URL "www.yourdomain.com"

Now if your site is NOT banned by google it will then give you a link to click to go to the site. "If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.yourdomain.com"

If your site was banned by google it would not show this.

What can I do If I am Banned?

If your site has been banned then the 1st thing to do is clean up your site and remove everything that is making google unhappy.

Then you can email google "webmaster@google.com" and tell them that you are very sorry and have removed all the bad things from your site and ask them to again include your website onto google.

nice article there scooty, these at least wind up something that a newbie in the field will not do on their first stage of site development.
Furthermore there are so many sites out there that have the same content, too many same keyword but still they rank up high in google.
