It seems with the way google is acquiring companies and monopolizing the internet, does it end up being another microsoft who has been monopolizing the pc with their operating system and ultimately had to be stopped by open source?

I don't think they're anywhere near greedy as Google though. They definitely don't own as many companies as them and didn't buy as many as them.

The way Googles infulence is increasing on internet they not far behind, monopoly is not a good thing I hope someone can compite with them.

I have started hating Google now, their motto "Don't be Evil" does not even make sense now. They are acquiring every company they can, they see a threat in some company, they buy them out or kill them with their influence. Microsoft is surely the end of Google, they will chase them and eat up their market in no time.

I think Google will monopolized the internet portion. Not other company has a potencial become as google. As long as the compite company doing the different idea to beat Google. Microsoft will leading in Operating system and Google will be leading on Internet influence.

The easiest way to beat a competitor is to buy it. Google has all the money and resources now.
Maybe, he's trying to imitate what Microsoft has done to his rivals- if you can't beat them
buy them.
