it is nice that google want to get in this field too but i personally think that they should first get their other products to a good popularity and use and then they should go in this one or any other project.

This is good news for those who hate wikipedia. I feel that wikipedia has been coming up with crappy editors these days which is leading to wrong info on their site most often than not. The most recent is the recent entry for windows vista which was mentioned as "Vista Sucks" only on the entry page and nothing else, but they changed it later but it was a prank played by one of the editor in wikipedia!

This project might not come at all. Even if it comes this will fail miserably like Google Answers. Google has to understand, it is not good enough or smart enought to create a user-generated content website like Wikipedia.
They don't have anything which is user-generated.

you might be correct but based on millions of users of google, you might be surprised how they will like to contribute especially if you can earn a little bit on the information

But this mifht be good as some of the info available on wikipedia is wrong and they are posting things without authonticating.
