I have heard that Google like your site more when you register your website or domain with them for longer period. They think that you are more serious about your site. Is it true????

Of course not. Google doesn't care who you register your site with.

This cannot be true, as google does not seem to have such intentions. Their main sourse of income is not through selling domains or hosting but through search and other ways, which i feel, they are more satisfied than going for domain names!

I think he means how long your site/domain has been around. And for that particular area, I believe that yes, the older a site is, the more likely google is to 'trust' it or what have you.
