Was it a good move to let google answer closed

Do you think it is a good move the google closed its Q and A portion, or the google answers? Why? and why not?

Google is in a state right now were public perspective matters most. On one side, people can look at this as Google finally focusing on their core product. On the flip side however, one could argue that many of Google's endeavors, have been a failure. The market is still out on this one but it may not be a good sign for Google.
