Hello...first of all sorry for my english, it is not my native language so i can easily make mistakes...just tell you this in advance so you dont complain later :P..
Well, want to talk a bit about ad contextualization and the ways to improve this. Contextualization is the key, IMHO, because ads, if correctly contestualized, GIVE CONTENT and information to your site, and are not just a clear intent to collect some money. So, i start telling you my experience. I run a big forum/site (biggest in italy and europe regarding car stereo competitions) from 4 years.I just recently installed adsense on the site, that was running on my money and other sponsors before.I decided to give adsense a shot. Let's say...revenue being disappointing is not really saying things as they were :).The average revenue is around 1,5$ each day (with 150.000 visits a month...and VERY loyal users though) Just today i understood...after 15 days...after trying various positions and colors and integration (that indeed made things a bit better!!) that the ads google displayed were really on another planet. I got all kinds of ads..ranging from industrial hovens to high blood pressure pills...with a target of 18-30 years old users, who ever would click on those ads? So today i started to thoroughly kill the unuseful ads.I until now killed 30 domains. that were the ones that most often appeared in the ads. I'll keep you all updated with the results of this strive for perfect contextualization i have.I want my users to read USEFUL ads...not hovens!! |
