Default Is this proof that images help target your Adsense ads?

I caught an interesting screenshot today. I've been working on some images and the placement for targeted ad purposes. Today it seems to be working out quite well.

The image I posted was tagged "firefox2". The Google ad that showed after publishing is for "Firefox for Dummies".

That's pretty damn targeted if you ask me!

Well, it could be because of your image name or text?

It's the image. I've been playing around with it and the images are helping the ads more than the text on the page. Google seems to give image tags a lot of credit when it comes to serving up ads.

So, does this mean that the name of the picture gives you better targeted adsense ads? If so, does that = increase in clicks on your adsense ads?

Well, I think that ad was pretty targeted and I havent seen it anywhere else where I talk about Firefox. It wasn't until I named an image Firefox and then put it right on top of adsense that the ad started appearing.

The click through rate has been up all day. Not by much, but enough to notice. I've done this on about 40 pages throughout the day. It's worked on a good 80% of the pages. The image instantly changes the group of ads that were showing.

I personally would be insulted if I posted about Firefox and got an add displaying "Firefox for Dummies"

Hmm, I find that intresting. I will have to try and add some images over and under my adsense box and see what happens. Thanks for the tip Eric.

Then you wouldn't click on it. Others decided to do so. ;)
