Google now offers a News Archive Search tool that looks fairly promising. I've only used it for a few searches, but I like what I see.

I wonder what it takes to get into this index?

That is really cool I think that is going to be very usefull for students who are woking on history progects and doing research for any subject.

Good point. This will be an excellent research tool. I've already put it to use in a writing project I just finished. :)

If anyone figures out how to get into that index, please share. Although, I'm sure they only accept full and orginal news stories, since they have a separate search for blogs.
