I was excited for a while when I thought Google would be releasing a good alternative to Paypal, but so far we haven't gotten the golden nugget.

Google has, however, released a pretty nifty Checkout tool.

For you webmasters that manage sites that sell online, we'd like to introduce you to one of our newest products, Google Checkout. Google Checkout is a checkout process that you integrate with your site(s), enabling your customers to quickly buy from you by providing only a single username and password. From there, you can use Checkout to charge your customers' credit cards and process their orders.

Users of Google's search advertising program, AdWords, get the added benefit of the Google Checkout badge and free transaction processing. The Google Checkout badge is an icon that appears on your AdWords ads and improves the effectiveness of your advertising by letting searchers know that you accept Checkout. Also, for every $1 you spend on AdWords, you can process $10 of Checkout sales for free. Even if you don't use AdWords, you can still process sales for a low 2% and $0.20 per transaction. So if you're interested in implementing Google Checkout, we encourage you to learn more.

Receiving this error:
Background:
The gateway could not receive a timely response from the Web site you are trying to access. This might indicate that the network is congested, or that the Web site is experiencing technical difficulties.
I always get this error whenever i try to access a blog at blogspot!

It could be a problem with your internet or ISP

Is your ISP blocking blogspot?

Dont ask.. i'am on a cable with around 800+ other users, all sharing the same IP .. and our network admin is'nt much of an Admin, so maybe he has blocked it accidently! .. or few features blogspot tends to use?

When the real thing is out, I'll check it out. Paypal's just not good for small items during auctions

This one is only available in US markets thus international webamsters cannot integrate yet the platform of google checkout. This could also be a good thing if we can recieve our adsense earning to be use in adwords.
