Default Different Results with Different Browsers?

I've come across countless posts about this, and hopefully this thread will help us get rid of the looming myth.

In my opinion, and please jump in with your own, there simply is no proof that the brower has anything to do with results. You'll find that when you search using Firefox, and then do the same search using IE, you'll probably get different results.

The reason for this is simply that Google uses MANY datacenters and your browser is taking a "snapshot" of the results and saving it in the cache. When you come back to Google using the same browser and search for the same thing you'll most likely see the same results. Clear your cache and you'll most likely get different results.

This is why you get different results using different browsers.

Hope this helps!

when i first saw the thread title, i think this is in relation with some page compatibility, css or styling on different browser, but it is not.

Of course clearing the cache helps on making the results, but you can set some browser to clear the cache, history and others after you are done browsing the internet.
Also if you will notice that search results are not changing over a period of say 1-7 days, that is becuase the cache of your previous page are the one being displayed by google, once it has update its engine, this will be the time you see some movement of your page.

I have been wondering why the results are the same when I return with the same search, then I used one of my friends PC and Found new results, When I returned home, I cleared my cache and found the new results, So I think that browsers have nothing to do with search results.

It is the item being pointed out by Eric in the thread, browser is nothing to do with the result. Search Engine are the one manipulating the results. what should be on top and what should be below.

Correct about that Eric, the search results depend only on which server the search engine happens to be using at that moment.

Thats practically impossible.. but who knows, sometimes Yahoo! search throw me an error that my browser has sent them a message which is not understandable.. So maybe, browser MAY effect the results .. this error i mentioned brings a bit logic in here or otherwise thats simply impossible :)

no no no, as stated above, browser doesn't affect search result, but in the case of lifexpect, we dont know either about the cause.
