People use different SE's for different kinds of searches. I find that Yahoo seems to send people who are looking to buy something. I think this is because Yahoo is thought of more as a "Virtual Mall" if you will. My sales ratio is much higher for Yahoo traffic, even though I get less visits through them.
Google on the other hand sends people hunting for information. This traffic *can* end up buying something, but it seems like the majority of the traffic is just wanting something to read and browse through. This is why Adsense is important for making money off of Google traffic. MSN, well I don't mean to be so blunt, but MSN just sucks. Its results are easy to manipulate, and even when you work your way to the top for certain keywords you kind of sit there scratching your head thinking "this is all I get?" |

Hello,
Yahoo has been in the search game for many years. Yahoo is better than MSN but nowhere near as good as Google at determining if a link is a natural quote or not. It has a ton of internal content and a paid inclusion program. Both of which give them encouragement to bias search results toward profitable results. MSN Search is new to the search game. It is bad at formative if a link is natural or artificial in nature. They have poor relevancy algorithms cause a heavy bias toward commercial results. Things like horrible topic shared links still work great in MSN Search. Google has been in the search game a long time, and saw the web graph when it is much cleaner than the current web graph. It is much better than the other engines at determining if a link is a true editorial citation or an artificial citation. It appears for natural link growth over time.
