Knowledge is power!

Sony is now having to cut corners in the PS3 because costs are too high. Blue-Ray isn't taking off like they had hoped and HD-DVD (what Xbox360 uses) is taking off and getting more and more popular. The Cell processor is (theoretically) more powerful than Xbox360's cpu. However, Xbox360 has a superior GPU. Not only that but PS3's Cell processor will be doing more things than Xbox360's so all the (theoretical) horsepower will be used for doing other things. Like physics and such, Xbox360's CPU doesn't handle the game physics, it's got a dedicated PPU.

For anyone who reads this, PS3 is looking more and more like it's going to flop, it's also being released, so far, a year after Xbox360 and really wont have any hardware advantages. Sony's console is hype, hype, hype. Didn't they also drop the rumble in their controllers? I'll probably buy a Nintendo Wii for my son and for a few of the games I am wanting (Metroid!).

PSO was no more powerful than the Sega Saturn, Saturn used a different polygons than N64 and PS0 so it failed in the US (it actually outsold PS0 in Japan). N64 had the hardware advantage in that generation (not counting the Sega Dreamcast because it came out just at the wrong time).

PS2 was an over hyped Dreamcast. It's hardware was pretty much on par with the DC. Not better or worse. The GameCube had better hardware than the PS2. Xbox had the hardware advantage in this generation.

This generation, Xbox360 and PS3 will be on the same playing field hardware wise. Wii is weaker but they're going for innovation rather than power (which is still powerful). Wii will also offer gaming experiences Xbox360 and PS3 can't. So hardware advantage is really irrelevant in this generation. Oh, and also, PS3 has less HD-TV support than the Xbox360.

What's kept the PlayStation console going? They're exclusive rights to the FF series, GTA series and a couple others, and I do mean a couple (2). I'm not 100% sure, but I think Xbox360 is supposed to get the FF games this time too, not sure about GTA or the others though, but who cares, Xbox360 has games that come to the call of filling in for those. Oh, another point goes to PC gaming cuz we usually get the so called Xbox or PS3 "Exclusives" anyway :P

I would have to admit playstation 3 is better than xbox 360 although I'm an xbox fan. I heard rumors about playstation 3 being around $600. If that's the case I'll stick to buying an xbox 360. The graphics are still pretty awesome imo. I wonder how the playstation 3 graphics are. Can't be that much better than xbox.

The main thing the XBox has is XBox live it will take a long time if ever if Playstation can get a service up to the level that the XBox has.

It just has a more devoted user base.

I think the price might scare some people off, but I know plenty of my friends would buy it, even if it were $1,000. They just want to play Madden 07 on PS3, no matter what the cost!

I will wait until both goes down around $200-250. and then I'll buy one! Not because I can't afford it, (yes, that's why :) ) but if I have extra $5-600, I wouldn't spend it on a game-box ;) okay, now you can kill me!

oh, ye and I saw an XB360 and a PS3... PS3 is better!
