I've been playing F.E.A.R. and I'm about 3/4 done, but it's so repetative I doubt I'll finish. I was loving HL2 until they made me get on that stupid waterbike.
I need a shooter with some variety and cool locations. C2D 6300 2 G GSkill RAM GeForce 7900 GS |

No matter how many games I play, I always return to Unreal Tournament. The variation in play is great, the levels look fantastic and it is really easy to get into. The storyline barely exists, but if you're looking for action on a grand scale, look no further.
For a little more strategy, try out SWAT 4, Hitman or one of the Tom Clancy range. Soldier of Fortune is a little dated now but again, it's a game you can really get into, theres a fair bit of variation and you can pick it up for next to nothing now. |

most people play css, but thats only if you are looking for a multiplayer game without any storyline, but you said that you played hl2, so you probably need something else. although it is not totally the same, but you should try call of duty if you have not, it should be interesting.

well doom 3 and quake 4 are unique, if he likes them then thats good, but i know atleast doom 3 is good when single player and very bad when multiplayer, i would say go with doom 3 if you want single player games, and go with css if multiplayer.
