My parents have an older computer that died if i put that ram in my computer will it help me? It is a diffrent type then mine. My ram is like ddr and the other ram is something else.

It probably won't fit and certainly won't work - you can't mix different types of RAM.

You can mix different speeds, though your motherboard will only run at the speed of the lowest chip, so sometimes it can be worth going with less RAM albeit at a higher speed.

Old RAM is generally not much use at all these days unfortunately - even more frustrating given how much I spent on SD RAM over the years.

It won't work you have to have the same type of RAM, as your motherboard mostly support only one kind of RAM

it wont work like the other guys said, and even if it did work, i doubt it would be of any use as it would surely be slow. you should just buy new ram if need performance boost.
