My computer could be soo good but it is having alot of problems right now, i have the radeon1950x, core duo processor, 2gigs of ram, asus p5b deluxe mother board, and well im having soo many fusturating problems so if you could help that would mean the world to me thanks, so my computer randomly shuts down and goes to this blue screen that says memory dump of something, then alot of games randomly crash, my dvd and cd drives only work half the time, the comp restarts randomly, and its really bothering me, i put alot of money into it and it doesnt work good so if you can help i would reallly appereciate it, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH. (theres more problems just cant think at the moment)

I ran into something similar with my Radeon 9250.
Try re-seating the video card. I found, in this particular machine, if I screwed the card in tight, it would do as you have described. So, I took the screw out, and it worked. Put the screw back in, ka-put! Needless to say, the card is just "sitting" in the slot, unfastened. Worth a shot...

if you paid a lot, then you should probably return it to the shop for repair or replacement, i don't think it would be wise to try anything because then they would just say that they wont fix it because you ruined it.
