Today BusinessWeek is running an article asking Will Nintendo's Wii Strategy Score? With the Tokyo Game Show this week, they run down the trials facing Nintendo's little-box-that-could both here in the States, and in Japan. From the article:
"Few expect truly dedicated gamers to choose the Wii over the PS3 or Xbox. And ultimately, the advantage may go to Sony. Yuta Sakurai, an analyst at Nomura Securities in Tokyo, expects the PS3 to sell 71 million units by 2011, compared with 40 million units for the Wii. Microsoft, meanwhile, is planning a stripped-down version of the Xbox without a hard-disk drive and other accessories that will cost about $250 in Japan, where the U.S. software maker has endured disappointing results."

Seems nothing can beat sony yet. Though how can microsoft sell Xbox if hings are so overpriced

You made some very good points. I still believe that the Wii will fall into third, though its cheap price tag may lure a lot of gamers... I myself will be getting one. I believe that the 360 has the edge in the "War" because it's already been out for a year, it's eaiser to develop for, and its got Live. PS3 doesnt have a good enough internet service. Microsoft continues to improve on their's and have just realeased a camera so we can now do video chats and place our faces as a character in a game. Also the xbox marketplace is exceptional! I love logging into live and downloading all of my new content for my games and movie trailers and even Xbox Live Arcade games. The 360 also has an attachable HDdvd drive coming out soon. More people are going into HDdvd than this Blu Ray nonsense. Don't get me wrong PS3 will be a great system, but I feel as though they have no chance of winning this war. It's already been a year and microsoft is continuing to provide what the consumers want and I feel that this is what makes it such a suscessful system to begin with. Also they have A lot of killer apps coming out as the PS3 is releaseing. Gears of War, and the all honorable HALO 3. Also the PS3 has lost it's biggest money maker as a system exclusive GTA4. I think the major battle will be for second place involving the Wii and the PS3... If you look at the facts Microsoft has already won. The wii is inovative and cheap, while the PS3 is a super fast processor with a hefty pricetag... Thanks for reading!

OH wow i had no idea that microsoft has realesased a camera for video chats and turn us into game characters lol, sounds interesting though. Its just a balltle between everybody really, so they just think of new ideas to bring new costumers.
Well im almost sure it'll be easier for microsoft to win this "war", since they have more money than all others i bet.
I wonder who's gonna win though

It will be really interesting to see who wins... but I have to give the upperhand to Microsoft, the money you metioned is another point... They could pretty much accomplish anything at this point.

I think that at first it may not work like clock work but I think it will be a very big step in the right direction of where I think gaming will be in 10-20 years. I think that the Wii is going to be a pioneer in the gaming revolution. <get it?

one thing I think it's funy, about money still. Everytime some new console is released it costs more than the previous one, and instead of decrease the price they increase it.Kinda confusing no? :P
