1.) Create a new image, size 200x200-400x400 should be enough. I used 300x300 in this tutorial. (White background is recommended)
2.) Grab you pen tool, and place the settings to the ones in the image below. ![]() 3.) Click anywhere on the canvas, continue clicking and moving until you get something similar to this shape. ![]() 4.) Click the Channel tab and click the button boxed in by red. ![]() Then your image should now look like this; ![]() and there should now be a new layer in the Channels list called "Alpha 1". 5.) Ok, now to work on the, shall i say "drop shadow" of the cable  Now, click your brush took, and select the brush in the below image; ![]() then click on your pen tool once more. 6.) Now, right click on the canvas anywhere, and select "Stroke Path", set the drop down menu to "Brush" and click "Ok". Now you should have something like this; ![]() 7.) Ok, now for blurrage! Click Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur... and set the Radius to around 3.0. 8.) Now press and hold the CTRL key on your keyboard, and click the "Alpha 1" layer in the Channels tab to select what you've done so far. 9.) Now, go back to the "Layers" tab and click the original layer. Now, select a darkish gray color and select your paintbucket, place the bucket inside the selected area, click and BAM, you now have the drop shadow. 10.) Now for the wire itself... Create a new image, around 12x12 and fill it with white. Grab your elliptical marquee tool and make a circle that touches the top, bottom, left and right side of the box. then fill it with black. Then, create a smaller circle and place it inside the first one, press delete and you should now have a with a hollow center. Now, grab your Magic Erase tool and make any white transparent. Now, go to Edit>Define Brush Pattern. 11.) Now, make a new layer (this will be for the cable itself) and select the brush tool, now find the brush you just created (usually at the very bottom) and select it. Then, reselect the pen tool and click Stroke Path and set it to brush (it is a good idea to have the brush color set to black, if you did not, no fear just undo the last step then redo it changing the color to black). Now, go to Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen More. AND YOU ARE COMPLETE!!! HURRAH!!! CONGRATZ!!! YOU MADE IT THROUGH THE TUTORIAL!! WHOOO!!!
