Alignment problems in Classic Theme

I'm having a little trouble finding the bit of code that controls the alignment of the center section of the forum. I would like to set a width requirement on the cell of the table that contains the avatar.. help if possible.

I am mostly familar with the index.template.php and the style.css file. If someone could help point me to the code that controls this cell, it would be very much apprishiated.
